Rockabilly Guitar books

Rockabilly: The Twang Heard 'Round the World: The Illustrated HistoryRockabilly: The Twang Heard 'Round the World: The Illustrated History - Rockabilly Hall of Fame (online), May 13, 2011 “This is one of the best books I've ever seen about rockabilly history. Its layout is dripping with 230 colorful informative pages containing comments, quotes and interviews. You will be impressed with its photographs of artists, posters, guitars, record labels, etc. It is reasonably priced and I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves rockabilly music ... whether you are a veteran fan, a collector, or one who is new to this genre." Yep, they're right

Long Distance Information Long Distance Information - Chuck Berry's Recorded Legacy. A collector's guide to the music of Chuck Berry.

Don't Forget Me: The Eddie Cochran StoryDon't Forget Me: The Eddie Cochran Story - An interesting read about the life of Eddie Cochran. It shows he was not at all happy as a singer or a teenage idol. A fact that is consistaintly ignored by just about everybody. It also shows how his image/career was clearly modelled by that of Elvis as were so many others at the time. Those who had the talent later learned to stand on their own, like Gene Vincent (A very troubled man judging by the book) and Buddy Holly. The book was co-written by guitarist and Cochran admirer Darrel Higham.

Go Cat Go: the Life and Times of Carl PerkinsGo Cat Go: the Life and Times of Carl Perkins - A must read about Carl Perkins aka The Quiet King of Rockabilly. The book shows that Rockabilly was "invented" by at least by three different groups uninfluenced by each other: Elvis and The Blue Moon Boys (Everybody knows THAT story), Carl Perkins and his brothers (Carl heard the slap bass in his sleep!) and Bill Haley who also had that idea and recorded it.
